Results - Kinrara Golf Club - 23rd May 2014

We had 13 Eggers this week making it a 3 x 3-ball plus 1 x 4-ball start from 2 tee boxes. Conditions were wet but having said that the course was in pretty good shape. We played from the white tee boxes making it on the short side and with the promise of some good scores which turned out to be too true.

Most of us made good time round the course although two of our flights got stuck behind a very slow 2 ball.

We had lunch at the club after the game which was simple and cheap - with the carryover from registration and the winner's pot covering all the costs.

Results

As expected there were some good scores today with half the field playing to their handicap or better. For myself I played the best game of my life shooting a gross 79, first time under 80 and a total of 44 points. However ..... this was not good enough to win on the day as Mike Nairn stormed in with a gross 92 and 45 points to take the winning slot - well done Mike. Best gross of the day was myself with 79.

Rotten Egg Award

The Rotten Egg Award this week went to Roger McGowan on his first appearance and was awarded this for failing to pay the convenor for the golf .... I was trying to reconcile why we were a little short at the registration desk and had to skulk back to the group to ask if anyone hadn't paid.

For the record here is the current state of the Rotten Egg Award nation to date:

Results - Monterez Golf Club - 16th May 2014

Report

We had 13 eggers today at Monterez, getting off to a start after early morning rain at around 8:20am with 3 x 3-balls and 1 x  4-ball starting from two tee boxes. Course conditions were good with the greens in good condition although a little dry on some. Playing off the whites tees the course played short and we expected some good scores today.

A welcome goes out to a new Egger, Andrew Barber, who joined us today and hello to Glen's guest John Underwood.

After the game 10 of us returned to the excellent Choong Foong Seafood Restaurant close to Monterez and on the road back to Subang airport for some great food washed down with Tigers and Carlsbergs ... and in my case a jug of watermelon juice!

Results

We had 3 players on 40 points today but on count back the winner was Brian Stubbs with a score of 94 for 40 points. Second again on count back from Andrew Robinson (also with 40 points) was Erol Akinci with 90 for 40 points. Best gross of the day was Stuart Taylor with 85.

Rotten Egg Award

There were a number of nominations for Rotten Egg today ... Robert (of course) for being late again, Glen's guest John Underwood for hogging the entire bench in the changing room but the winner went to Erol Akinci for calling at 7:15 to say he could not find the course and was going home.... only to call again half an hour later to ask if we had registered as he had now found the course and wanted to play.

Results - Seri Selangor - 9th May 2014

We returned to our home course of Seri Selangor this week. We had 11 players show up and a big welcome back to Graham Cadman who has obviously had enough of work. Conditions of the course were pretty good and as usual this course is quite challenging. Welcome also to Jeff Pearce who joined our group for the first time - hope to see you again soon. Weather was good but got rather hot and steamy by the end of the round.

After golf we headed over to the Giza Shopping Centre and had our usual post-game beer and pizza which went down very well.

Results

Glenn Wombwell was the winner with a gross of 98 and 38 points on count back from Mike Nairn who also had 38 points. Full results below:

Rotten Egg Award

After some debate for this week's award over lunch, with Robert Mulliss again in the running for throwing Mike Nairn out his house after a 2month + stay .... this week's Rotten Egg went to Mike Nairn for being a tart ... a rather simple but effective nomination.
