Results - Kinrara Golf Club - 23rd May 2014

We had 13 Eggers this week making it a 3 x 3-ball plus 1 x 4-ball start from 2 tee boxes. Conditions were wet but having said that the course was in pretty good shape. We played from the white tee boxes making it on the short side and with the promise of some good scores which turned out to be too true.

Most of us made good time round the course although two of our flights got stuck behind a very slow 2 ball.

We had lunch at the club after the game which was simple and cheap - with the carryover from registration and the winner's pot covering all the costs.

Results

As expected there were some good scores today with half the field playing to their handicap or better. For myself I played the best game of my life shooting a gross 79, first time under 80 and a total of 44 points. However ..... this was not good enough to win on the day as Mike Nairn stormed in with a gross 92 and 45 points to take the winning slot - well done Mike. Best gross of the day was myself with 79.

Rotten Egg Award

The Rotten Egg Award this week went to Roger McGowan on his first appearance and was awarded this for failing to pay the convenor for the golf .... I was trying to reconcile why we were a little short at the registration desk and had to skulk back to the group to ask if anyone hadn't paid.

For the record here is the current state of the Rotten Egg Award nation to date:
