Results - Tasik Puteri - 24th October 2014

Report

We had 2 flights this week at Tasik Puteri on a beautiful morning with clear blue skies. Humidity was high making it a tiring round and the going for everyone seemed tough given the scores. Course condition was a mixture of some soggy wet areas and bone dry, hard areas and the greens although good were on the bumpy side.

The 2 four balls made reasonably good time and we then drove back towards Rawang to our usual Chinese restaurant for lunch.

Results

The winner today with 31 points and a gross of 101 was Graham Cadman. Runner up was Brian Stubbs with 29 points. This highlights the hard going it was! I myself just managed to break 100 in one of my worst rounds for a while.

Rotten Egg Award

The Rotten Egg Award was awarded unanimously in record time this morning by a supreme performance by our fellow egger Peter Davies. On being told that the cost of the round for Seniors was RM88 and the cost using a TP book was also RM88 and that we would be collecting RM100 from each player to pay for caddies Peter promptly handed over RM12 and his TP book stating that the voucher was worth RM88 and here was his additional RM12!!! A few of us explained that the voucher allowed the player to use for a cost of RM88. It took about 3 times to explain before Peter realised his mistake. Almost worth a double-yolked rotten egg award I thought

Results - Seri Selangor - 17th October 2014

Report

We had 9 regular Eggers plus one guest at today's game at Seri Selangor. The course was as always very tough and with the hot humid weather it was particularly arduous for all golfers. We met at 8:30 and got off at around 9:00am and finished by 1:15pm .... with everyone totally exhausted. The course was in fair condition but as ever very unforgiving of the slightest error.

Results

The winner today with a best gross of 93 (37 points) was Erol Akinci - well played Erol on such a tough course. Runner up was Mike Smith with 97 for 34 points. Erol has kept the winning pot and will use this next week at an establishment we can have some beers and good food. Everyone today after post game drinks headed off without the usual lunch.

Rotten Egg Award

No Rotten Egg award this week as no real nominations.

Results - KGSAAS - 10th October 2014

Report

We decided to play KGSAAS to take advantage of the special Friday Senior's rate of RM93 .... which was good for 9 of us ... unfortunately Peter Davies (the non-senior baby) had to pay full rate of RM168.

We had 3 flights and set off on the Sultan & President's 9's in good weather conditions. Course was pretty good but greens were very variable from slow to very fast.

We finished around 12:15pm and then decided to lunch at the Chinese restaurant at the club ..... well most of us did! Unfortunately Mike Smith headed off to the Annexe for lunch after getting misinformation from Robert Mulliss so there were only 9 of us for lunch. The food was good and plentiful .... enough for one more it looked like ;)

Going forward and learning from this we should in future all convene after the game and decide collectively on a lunch venue .... or better make a decision before the game.

Results

Winner of the day was Stuart Taylor with 38 points (gross of 84) and runner up was Robert Mulliss with 37 points (102 gross). It must be said however we need to be a little more careful on the scoring and cross checking as quite a few of the scores were wrong. Mike Smith had Robert Mulliss' score down as 103 for 36 and Robert had quoted 102 for 37. We need to make sure that playing partners crow-check the scores before submission. Thanks.

Rotten Egg Award

There was much discussion on the number of misdemeanours of Mike Smith heading to the wrong lunch venue, not paying his RM10, not submitting a card, listening to Robert Mulliss, having his phone switched off, etc ...... so he will get a Rotten Egg award. However I will also award an extra Rotten Egg Award for Robert Mulliss for badly misleading a fellow Egger into heading to lunch in the wrong location.
