Results - Perangsang Templer - 15th August 2014

We had 10 Eggers on a beautiful morning at Perangsang Templer. Course conditions were very good but there had been some very heavy rain so the fairways were soft and the bunkers all flooded. However the greens were good and deceptively quick as we found out.

Our 3 flights got round in good time then adjourned to the Tang Dynasty Restaurant in Selayang for a feast. Tony made an excellent choice of food and in our small private room we could have been in any top class Chinese restaurant in KL with service to match. Some of the highlights of the lunch were the Iberian black pig ribs to start and the the small abalone with garlic .... all excellent. Drinks were sponsored by Allan McNicoll for his 3 Rotten Egg awards - many thanks Allan.

Results

Scores were not good today and the winner with 32 points (101 gross) was Allan McNicoll. Tied for 2nd place was Graham Cadman and Zak Zainal. Best gross was Zak Zainal and Stuart Taylor both with 94. Full results below:

Rotten Egg Award

After much debate and discussion over lunch the Rotten Egg Award this week was awarded to Glen Wombwell for wetting his golf shorts before the game commenced. He had some lame excuse that this was due to switching off a running shower in the changing rooms .... but we all suspect he pissed his pants!!

Next Game - Perangsang Templer - 15th August 2014

We will play Perangsang Templer this Friday 15th August -no tee time needs to be booked - let’s plan to meet at the club by 8:00am for an approx 8:30am tee off.

We will have lunch at Tangs after the game.

Results - KRTU - 8th August 2014

It was a beautiful day today for our game at our favourite KRTU. There was one small sprinkling of rain which helped keep things cool briefly.

We had 8 Eggers so a nice 2 full flights. Course conditions were good and the greens also very good as usual. It was a quick round of about 4 hours and we all had lunch at the clubhouse afterwards.


Results

The winner today and playing to his handicap was Tony Morris with a gross of 90 and 36 points. Second was Stuart Taylor with 88 and 33 points. Peter Davies had an excellent 22 points on his first 9 holes but then he had a very bad second 9 when the wheels came off. Full results below.

Next Game - KRTU - 8th August 2014

We will play at KRTU this Friday - 2 tee times have been booked at 09:10 and 09:20 so please meet at the clubhouse by 08:30.

We will have lunch at the clubhouse after the game.

Results - Rahman Putra - 1st August 2014

Last week's winner, Kevin Wiggins, chose Rahman Putra Golf Club for this week's game - a tough little course (as noted on a plaque in the reservation desk area ... see photos).

7 Eggers plus 1 guest played this week and noticeably absent was Kevin Wiggins .... having nominated this course ...... a few mumbles from some of the Eggers were heard!

Anyway it was a glorious but humid day and we all got off on the Hills course around 8:15ish. Although we had a walking group in front we were not overly held up and finished in just over 4 hours. Course conditions were good, although as usual the cow grass was heavy going and there seemed to be water hazards everywhere. Greens were very good but a little slow.

One small incident on the 2nd hole played left Mike Smith with a cut to his leg after tripping and falling in a drain after playing his ball into one of the lakes ....... he brushed this off as "just a graze" and bravely went on playing. (See photos for evidence).

After the game we took lunch at the nearby Heng Yin Chinese restaurant which was very good once we had clarified the difference to the staff between fried rice and five rice!!

Results

Scores at Rahman Putra are generally not that good but this week's winner had a credible 38 points .... Allan McNicoll with a gross of 96 and 38 points ... well done Allan! Second was Tony Morris with 31 points and a gross of 95.

Rotten Egg Award

This week's Rotten Egg Award was awarded in record time ... and in fact prior to us teeing off. Allan McNicoll was awarded this prestigious award for managing to block the entranceway to the bag drop with a queue of cars awaiting and causing a minor traffic jam.

Allan has now accumulated 3 Rotten Eggs so will be treating the Eggers to some refreshments next week ...... cheers Allan.
