It was a beautiful day for us to play at KGPA with 2 flights scheduled at 8:40 and 8:50am. After a few permutations at the registration desk we all got the RM100 deal using the TP books and got off on schedule playing the Lakes 9 first. The course was in very good shape with the fairways and even the areas outside the fairways all trimmed and neat. The greens were immaculate and very fast ... sorry &*%$# FAST ... and with the usual undulations and slopes on these greens this made the putting treacherous ... as I found to my cost.
With the clear blue skies and the sunshine we had some wonderful views around the course. We finished about 1pm and quickly adjourned to the nearby Selangor Club Annexe for lunch and refreshments.
The winner of the day was Allan McNicoll with 37 points (adjusted after checking the card) with Kevin Wiggins a close second with 36 points - well done to break handicap on this course! Can I remind all members to closely check their scores as most (including my own one I may add!) were not done correctly and did not tally with the Stableford points. If you didn't score any Stableford points then please enter the gross score of that hole as the gross score which doesn't score as I use the gross score for handicap updates. This is usually the cause of the inconsistencies between the Stableford and the gross scores as recorded.
At lunch we discussed potential Rotten Egg Awards and can gladly announce that Kevin Wiggins gets this for lending a golf glove to Robert Mulliss which then proceeded to disintegrate during the round.
