Monterez - 22nd May 2015

8 Eggers took to the course today at Monterez.  Check in process was efficient and we managed to tee off 15 minutes early.

Both flights teed off on hole 10 and on hole 11 Robert “I’ll tempt fate” Mulliss said how nice it is playing in the morning as we hardly have any rain when we play.  Within 5 minutes of his comment the skies darkened, and the heavens opened up.  This was promptly followed by the siren and we all took shelter for the next 20 minutes.

When play resumed the fairways were naturally drenched however the drainage on the course worked pretty well especially on the greens which were in particularly good condition.

Results

Most players struggled on some of the holes due to the water but not the winner for the second week steady Zak with an impressive 38 stableford points and the lowest gross score of 88.  Second place with 33 points was fate tempter Robert with 33 points.

Rotten Egg Award

The weather seemed to have a calming influence on our behaviour and no one could offer a nomination for the day.  However on reflection one person nominated our leader for updating the handicap system whilst he should be relaxing on his cruise and not thinking about golf.  The nomination was then agreed and passed.

KRTU - 15th May 2015

It was a beautiful morning as two flights of Eggers teed off from the back 9 of KRTU. The course was in good shape as usual and the greens forever difficult with their undulations. It soon got very hot and humid making the second nine harder and more tiring.

We lunched as usual at the club and Glen kindly coughed up for the drinks for his 3 Rotten Egg Award limit that he had reached. He has now been zeroed again.

Results

The winner today was Zak Zainal with a score of 91 and 36 points - obviously local knowledge pays off. Runner up was Stuart Taylor with a 88 and 33 points. Best gross of the day was Stuart Taylor with 88. Full results below :

Rotten Egg Award

There were a number of nominations voiced today but the clear winner was Robert Mulliss who was awarded the prestigious Rotten Egg Award for failing to be able to identify his ball on one of the holes ........ "I'm not sure this is my ball .... it's a Srixon but this one has a large logo on it!!" ..... "If it was my ball I scored a 7 .... if it is not I scored an 8".

Impian Golf & Country Club - 8th May 2015

It was a beautiful morning as 8 Eggers tee'd off from the second 9 of Impian Golf & Country Club at around just after 8:00am. It is always a delight to come back to this club as it is so well maintained with some great holes and excellent and interesting greens.

Conditions were good and some thought a good score may have been forthcoming, including myself who parred the first 3 holes, but in the end no-one scored better than their handicap.

We lunched at the excellent Kenwell Seafood Restaurant after the game and much enjoyed by all 8 of us who attended.

Results

We had 3 players all on 34 points but Robert Mulliss won on count back with 104 for 34 from Brian Stubbs with 100 for 34 and Hans Berger with 94 for 34. Best gross of the day was Stuart Taylor with 90. Full results below:

Rotten Egg Award

We had two nominations today; one for Brian Stubbs for playing Stuart Taylor's ball on the 8th hole (and losing it in the gully!) then playing his own ball and losing that also in the gully, and a second nomination for Tony Morris for disparaging remarks about all his playing partners' putts. Tony was voted the Rotten Egg of the day.
