Results - Staffield Golf & Country Resort - 18th July 2014

A beautiful clear day at Staffield with a very quiet course allowing 8 Eggers and one guest (Trevor smith - a 1 handicapper from Australia) to get round very quickly. The course was again in wonderful condition and the greens really excellent. After the game we all had lunch and some beers at the clubhouse - the beer causing some issue due to a strange taste in one of the jugs .... which resulted in Erol taking the coveted Rotten Egg Award .... see below.

Results

Winner of the day was Kevin Wiggins with a very good score of 83 gross and 40 Stableford points. Second was Graham Cadman with gross of 97 and 36 points. Best gross was our guest Trevor Smith with 79. Full results below:

Rotten Egg Award

This week Erol Akinci wins the Rotten Egg Award as he managed to drink the beer slops which the rest of us had discarded into a jug after tasting a bad batch of beer. Erol proudly drank from this jug of beer and stated that it was still bad thinking he was drinking the newer fresher beer ..... it was a quick and easy decision on this award.

Next Game - Staffield Golf & Country Resort - 18th July 2014

Next game will be at Staffield Golf & Country Resort. I have booked 2 flights on Friday 18th July at 8:30am at the special Ramadan rate of RM88. Please let me know by return if you plan to play.

We will meet at the clubhouse by around 8:00am.

Results - Bangi Golf Resort - 11th July 2014

6 Eggers took the fairways of Bangi Golf Resort this morning, playing the Putrajaya and Bangi nines. Conditions on the course were quite good which is more than can be said about the rather sad and dilapidated condition that the clubhouse was in.

However we had a pleasant round of golf under good weather conditions and then we drove back to the Restoran East of the Highway for a lovely lunch and refreshments kindly paid for by our 3 Rotten Egg Award winner, Robert Mulliss.

Results

Winner of the day was Stuart Taylor with a gross of 83 and a total of 39 Stableford points. Mike Smith came second with a gross of 93 and 37 points. Full results below:

Rotten Egg Award

A Rotten Egg was awarded today for Peter Davies for forgetting his golf shoes and then having to rent a pair (see photo below) at the club for RM50!

Next Game - Bangi Golf Resort - 11th July 2014

At the request of last week’s winner, Allan McNicoll, we will play at Bangi Golf Club this next Friday 11th July. No need for booking due to Ramadan time as I was assured it is quiet - rate will be circa RM110 per head - extra meal vouchers given during this Ramadan time!. 

Let’s meet at 8:00am at the club and we can hopefully get off around 8:30am.

After golf we can have lunch at the Restoran East of the Highway - map below for reference. Robert Mulliss will be kindly sponsoring some refreshments over lunch due to his successful collection of 3 Rotten Egg Awards!!

Results - KRTU - 4th July 2014

A slightly later start today at KRTU with tee-times of 09:00 and 09:10 left the 7 FRID' Eggers time for a heart breakfast at the clubhouse prior to starting. Conditions today were perfect, both weather wise with clear skies and a pleasant breeze and course wise which as usual was in excellent condition. Greens were very good but a little on the slow side.

The two flights got round in good time and we all enjoyed a good lunch (most of us trying the excellent fish and chips) with an appropriate amount of liquids to replenish the thirst.

Results

Winner today was Allan McNicoll with a gross score of 99 and 35 Stableford points with Glen Wombwell coming second with 103 and 32 points.

Biggest come back of the day was Mike Smith who scored 7 points on the front 9 but came back with 22 points on the back 9.

Rotten Egg Award

Robert Mulliss foolishly nominated himself for a Rotten Egg due to his antics on the 12th green and missing a tap-in put to then have the ball run down the slope to about 20 feet away. Although Peter Davies was also mentioned for his damage done to the sand bucket on the ladies tee-box on the 14th hole by his errant drive. However it was felt a self-nomination in itself was enough to get the coveted Rotten Egg Award.

This means that Robert again has accumulated now 3 Rotten Egg Awards which means he will pay for drinks at the next outing.
