KGPA - 13th March 2015

Today I was all organised and ready for the registration process ..... 6 TP books all duly signed and 4 I.D cards for the other, money all calculated, registration forms filled in immaculately .... what could possibly go wrong. Well this was KGPA and as we well know the registration process is certainly not the slickest of any of the clubs we play. As I piled the TP books on the counter and handed in the perfectly completed registration forms the lady turned and informed me that no longer accept the TP book vouchers ....... "Why Not I replied ... these are the latest 2015 books with the KGPA vouchers inside" ......... "Contract expired lah!" she retorted. So we had to negotiate the package deal which actually worked out ok for everyone in the end. However a sharp note to the TP book publisher will be sent off shortly.

Anyway conditions were great, the sky was clear, blue skies, sunshine and the course was in great shape. After a little bit of a wait at the tees we all got off around 9:00am - 3 flights from 2 separate tee boxes. As usual the course was tough with sloping greens and challenging fairways (if you could find them!). We were done by around 1:15 to 1:30 pm then it was off to the nearby Royal Selangor Club Sports Annexe for some M&M.

Results

Nobody played to their handicap or better which is normal for this course. We had two tied at 33 points but the winner on count back on the back nine went to Barry Sage with a gross of 93 from Jeff Pearce with a gross score of 95. Well done Barry. Robert Mulliss was 3rd with a gross of 107 and 32 points. Best gross of the day was Stuart Taylor with 92. Full scores tabulated below.

Rotten Egg Award

We had a unanimous vote for a Rotten Egg Award to each of the 3 players who left after the game and did not come to lunch and contribute the usual weekly RM10 for the pot, namely Barry Sage, Greg Mackley and Tony Morris. many thanks to Jeff Pearce who handed in his RM10 after the game as he could not also make lunch.
