KRTU - 30th October 2015

The haze was gone and the sky was clear and blue again making it a wonderful morning at KRTU. With the recent rain the course was a little soggy in places with balls being plugged but otherwise in great shape. The greens were as usual very good. We had 8 eggers today making a nice two full flights - although we almost lost one player who had some issues getting into the airforce base without his passport due to some officious Indian guard. We got off on hole no 1 at 8:00am and were all finished by 12:30 in time for an excellent lunch onsite (the new special murtbak daging was really excellent!).

Rotten Egg Award

There were a few nominations today for the Rotten Egg Award :

1. Stuart for failing to remind players to bring passports
2. Richard for forgetting his passport, parking incorrectly at the base entrance and upsetting the Indian guard
3. Brian Stubbs for asking about using the TP discount book, then running all the way back to the locker room only to find he had used all the vouchers from his TP book

Brian was awarded the prestigious Rotten Egg of the day.

KGPA - 23rd October 2015

We had 11 Eggers this morning at KGPA and after a rather surprisingly efficient checkin we teed' off on the Lakes and Forest nines. Weather was hazy which got worse later in the morning but the course conditions were good. The newly refurbished Forest nine was very good with much wider fairways and many of the trees removed. New buggy tracks, new bunkers and completely revised fairways and greens brought this nine up to close to the other two nine's standard.

We adjourned to Pantai Seafood Restaurant for a most enjoyable lunch and cold beers (supervised by Allan Wright who took great pains to get the beers cold).

The clear winner today was Barry Sage with an excellent best gross of the day 85 and 41 points - Barry didn't make lunch so his winnings were quickly put in the kitty towards the lunch ... thank you Barry. Peter Davies had brought an extra prize for the winner today .... a golf ball "egg" in a cup so Barry will hopefully receive this in one live via Robert Mulliss. Runner up today was Peter Kenyon with 34 points.  Full results below :

Rotten Egg Award

We had a couple of weak nominations today .... Mike Smith for losing 9 balls and Robert Mulliss for trying to do a U-turn at the bag drop ...... so we decided on no award this week.

Seri Selangor - 16th October 2015

We had 3 flights today with a total of 11 players. We got off to an early start by 8:00am on the 1st tee with good conditions - still slightly hazy. The course was in good shape and the greens excellent. WE were all finished by 12:30 then had lunch at the Sun PJ Restoran with some great vegetable curry, wonderful pork knuckle and numerous beers - drinks kindly sponsored this week by Mike Smith who was paying off his 3 Eggs - thank you Mike.

Many thanks to Glen for arranging the Eggs games whileI was away in UK.

The tough course had its usual impact on the scores with only one person breaking handicap .... Richard Rodwell won with 38 points (and best gross of 84), with runner up being Jeff Pearce on 32 points. Full results below :

Rotten Egg Award

We had one almost self-nomination Rotten Egg award today with Jeff Pearce managing to hit himself on the head with his driver as he exited the buggy - he ended up with a large "egg" on his head. However during the course of the lunch it was mentioned that Andrew Robinson had complained about his club being slippy ...... his new rescue wood still had the polythene wrapping on the grip ..... so he was duly awarded the Rotten Egg of the day.
