Kinrara Golf Club - 24th April 2015

It had obviously been raining heavily at the course the previous evening as Kinrara was wet and in some places very soft making plugged balls a problem. There were many trees down and many of the bunkers had water in them. However 8 Eggers struggled round the course - the first nine went well for most but the back 9 certainly proved troublesome for most. Scores were generally on the low side and reflected the tougher playing conditions today.

After the game we all (well all but one) had lunch at the Restoran East of Highway - we managed somehow to lose Glen on the way - he was following Allan Wright who in turn was following Peter.

Results

The winner today with a rather modest 32 points was Stuart Taylor with a gross of 88. Runner up was Glen Wombwell with 28 points, gross of 106. Full results tabulated below:

Rotten Egg Award

The group voted Glen for the Rotten Egg Award today for being exceptionally grumpy all the way round the course, losing his way to lunch and not putting in his RM10.

Amverton Cove - 17th April 2015

A perfect day at Amverton Cove with excellent weather and a course in great condition. We played off the blue tees as the whites are really quite short and this made some of the holes quite challenging. The greens were excellent with predictable putting. We got off at 8:00am sharp and with hardly anyone on the course we made good time and were all back by 12:30pm. 

After the game we had lunch at the usual Chinese seafood restaurant just at the bridge close to the club. With Andrew Robinson ordering we were in for a treat of seafood .... however we must remember and not to order the oyster omelette again!! Thanks again to Andrew for the drinks as his penance for 3 Rotten Egg Awards.

Results

Some good scores today with the winner being Peter Davies with 39 points (gross 96). Runner up was Hans Berger with 38 points (gross 91). Best gross of the day was Stuart Taylor with an 84.

KRTU - 10th April 2015

We had 8 Eggers this week at KRTU making 2 full flights. Zak, a member at KRTU, kindly booked the 2 tee times at 8:20 and 8:30. It was a little busy this morning but we got off on time and were all finished by 1pm. The course was in very good shape and the greens excellent. Weather was hot and humid.

We had a pleasant lunch at the club following the game with the usual fish and chips and beer.

Results

Tony Morris was the winner today with a modest 35 points and gross of 91. Second place was Stuart Taylor with 32 points, gross 89 on count back from Robert Mulliss with 32 points, gross 106 as Stuart had 16 points on the back 9 and Robert had 15 points. Full results below : 

Rotten Egg Award

The Rotten Egg Award was unanimously awarded before we started play today with Robert Mulliss self nominating himself ..... he realised on the way to the course he had forgotten his passport and wallet .... not wanting to be late for golf he carried on and blagged his was past security using a tattered paper copy of his passport .... he was still late for golf .... and had no money!!
