KRTU - 27th February 2015

Only 4 Eggers today at KRTU for a later tee-off time of 9:30am allowing us time to enjoy the wonderful roti breakfast at the clubhouse first. It was a cheap round using the vouchers from the TP book and with RM10 vouchers for food made it a very economical day out.

It was a hot and humid day getting hotter by the back nine. Course conditions were very good with well kept fairways (when we hit them!) and beautiful but undulating greens.

We were not unduly held up and finished just after 2pm then had lunch at the clubhouse with a much needed 2 jugs of beer.

The economical day out was then ruined by Peter and I visiting the Pro shop where there was a sale on ...... walking out with new shirts, a golf cap and a new Taylor Made bag!!

Results

Robert Mullis got off to a flying start scoring 22 points on the first nine - he was gleefully looking forward to a win so he could nominate Kundang Lakes as the next week's game. However he crumbled on the back 9, scoring only 11 points, and Peter shot into the lead to take the best score of the day with 37 points (99 gross). Peter however nominated Kundang Lakes for next week - I will be away in Thailand so Peter will arrange this game.

KGSAAS - 13th February 2015

It was a beautiful morning and the course was relatively quiet so the 3 x 3 ball flights made good time round the President & Sultan 9's. It was good value for Seniors ... RM98 for green fees/buggy/insurance and caddy! The course was in good shape but some of the greens had been sanded. After the game we had a good lunch and some beers in the club Chinese restaurant  - Jeff Pearce had 2 lunches as he had already taken some lunch after finishing his game at the downstairs cafe!

Results

There was a very clear winner today - Peter Davies played the best round he has had to date with a gross of 92 scoring 45 points! Runner up was Tony Morris with 36 points (gross of 91). Full results below.

Rotten Egg Award

There were a number of nominations today - Jeff Pearce being accused of not paying for his Teh tarik and Glen having to cough up for this as Jeff had gone to the practice putting green. He had in fact paid for his drink ..... and seemingly the confusion arose because Andrew Robinson had arrived very early at the club .... more than 1 hour before the rest of us ... and had ordered a drink which he sent back twice .... so the extra drink charge was obviously his. He was duly nominated the Rotten Egg Award due to 1) being very early to the club and 2) causing confusion over the drinks order and not paying for his extra drinks.

An honourable mention however must go out to Brian Stubbs who texted in that he couldn't play as he had woken up with a rash all over and although he thought it was an allergic reaction he did not want to contaminate his fellow golfers. Almost a nomination.
