Seri Selangor - 18th December 2015

8 Eggers played today at  Seri Selangor for the final game of 2015.

Due to the recent heavy rain the course was ‘boggy’ in places however the greens were in pretty good condition.  The course was busy and posed it’s usual difficult but enjoyable challenges.

This was reflected in the score with nobody managing to play to handicap.  Winner on the day was Peter with 33 points followed closely by Richard on 32 points and Graham in third on 29 points.

All 8 Eggers enjoyed lunch at our favourite Pantai Seafood Restaurant with cold beer served through out the meal for the first time ever.  This was achieved by phoning 2 hours in advance and requesting the bottles to be placed immediately in ice for future consumption.

All Eggers were well behaved therefore no nomination for the rotten egg award.

Next game will be played on Friday 8th of January due to the next 2 weeks being Christmas Day and New Years Day.  General consensus was to play again at Seri Selangor followed by Glens favourite Nyonya Fish washed down with ice cold beer.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Eggers and Family members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Staffield - 4th December 2015

We had two full flights this morning at Staffield which was in great condition - a pleasant surprise to play a dry course after the wet bogs we have experienced over the last few weeks because of the heavy rains. Weather was wonderful with clear blue skies and a light breeze.

We played the North and West courses and were finished by around 12:30pm - then off for lunch at Restoran East of Highway.

Welcome again to our guest Arthur Rodwell who joined us .... Richard couldn't make it due to work commitments.

Results

Our clear winner today was Jeff Pearce who is on a bit of a hot streak of late .... shooting 40 points with a gross of 89 - well done Jeff. Runner up (on countback) was Peter Davies with 36 points from Stuart Taylor also with 36 points. Full scores below:

Rotten Egg Award

No Rotten Egg Awards this week.

KGPA - 27th November 2015

Our last week's winner, Tony Morris, chose to play KGPA again and this week we played the Hills and Lakes courses. Conditions were wet and soggy and many players had problems with lost balls in the thick, wet rough as well as plugged balls on the fairway. However the greens were in good condition and the weather was favourable. 3 full flights finished by 1:30pm and then we headed out for lunch at our favourite Pantai Seafood.

Results

As expected scores were generally low but our clear winner today with a tremendous gross 80 (best of the day) and 40 points was Richard Rodwell, obviously spurred on by his father Arthur Rodwell, who was there as a guest today. Runner up was Jeff Pearce with a gross of 95 for 34 points. Full results below:

Rotten Egg Award

We head a meagre two nominations today .... Robert Mulliss for driving round the roundabout the wrong way at the club on the way to pick up his bag and Roger McGowan for answering strangely when asked where Stuart's first ball went on the 16th hole ..... none really warranted an award so we didn't award one this week. Geoff McLaws gets an automatic Rotten Egg for being late.

KGPA - 20th November 2015

We had a round dozen Eggs for the game at KGPA and after a relatively uneventful checkin we got off on the Lakes 9 at 8:20 ahead of schedule. This 9 was pretty wet from all the rain recently so we had a few issues of losing plugged balls. The greens however were very good. The second Forest 9 was a lot better no doubt due to the different grass and good new drainage (thanks to the Parslow Brothers!).

The weather was good but got very warm and humid by the back 9. We adjourned to our favourite Pantai Seafood Restaurant after the game and had an excellent and good value lunch.

Results

The winner this week with an excellent 41 points was Tony Morris, runners up were Richard Rodwell and Jeff Pearce both on 41 points. Best gross of the day was Richard Rodwell with an 80. Full results below :

Rotten Egg Award

We had a couple of nominations this week  - Stuart for somehow allowing Robert Mulliss' e-mails to go into his spam box and thereby missing the game and Glen for misidentifying his ID card at checkin as being Mike Smith's (who wasn't even there) ..... apologies to Mike Smith! Glen was duly voted the Rotten Egg. Roger McGowan got an automatic Rotten Egg for being late.

As a suggestion by Tony Morris rather than accumulating 3 Rotten Eggs then paying for drinks it was suggested that each Rotten Egg could be paid off with RM50. This was agreed by all as being an easier way to manage the Rotten Eggs ..... Tony promptly paid up his 5 Rotten Eggs (RM250) and Erol paid his 3 (RM150).

Rotten Egg status is therefore now as follows:
